As your Parish Priest, I wish to share these reflections for our community this Easter:
The Resurrection is not just a historical event we remember; it is a reality we must live. We all face “tombs” in our lives—moments of grief, anxiety, or spiritual dryness. Easter tells us that God is an expert at bringing life out of death. No matter how heavy the stone feels in your life, Christ has already rolled it away.
When Mary Magdalene found the empty tomb, she didn’t keep the news to herself. She ran to tell the others. As a parish family, we are called to be “Easter People.” Our mission is to carry the joy of the Risen Christ into our homes and our neighborhoods, especially to those who feel forgotten or alone.
The beauty and solemnity of the Easter Triduum do not happen by accident. I am deeply moved by the dedication shown by so many in our parish family. On behalf of the community, I want to express my sincere gratitude to:
To our Neophytes—those who have just been baptized and received into the Church—we welcome you with open arms! You are no longer strangers, but beloved members of the big parish family. Your “Yes” to God brings fresh life and hope to our community. We walk this journey of faith together with you.
May the joy of the Risen Lord fill your hearts and your homes. May His peace, which the world cannot give, remain with you always.
On behalf of all Clergy and Religious, and the Mission Staff and Crews of St. Michael Parish, Penampang, I wish you all a blessed and glorious Easter.
Alleluia, Alleluia! He is Risen indeed!
Fr. Wilfred Atin
Parish Priest of St. Michael, Penampang.
