Psalm 46:2–3, 5–6, 8–9
1 Corinthians 3:9–11, 16–17
John 2:13–22
Every church building reminds us of a deeper truth: “God’s real temple is not made of stone, but of hearts filled with faith, love, and holiness.”
Reflection on the Readings
Ezekiel 47:1–2, 8–9, 12 – Water flowing from the Temple
Ezekiel sees water flowing from the Temple, giving life wherever it goes. This water symbolizes God’s grace and Spirit flowing to heal and renew His people. Just as water refreshes dry land, the Spirit of God refreshes our souls.
💭Let God’s grace flow through you — in kindness, forgiveness, and service.
💭In every trial, remember: God’s presence is our peace.
💭Keep your heart pure and your relationships peaceful — you are God’s dwelling place.
Together they teach us: “God no longer lives only in temples made by human hands — He lives in His people.”
So when we care for one another, forgive, and serve, we are building the Church. When we gossip, divide, or judge, we are tearing it down.
Reflection Summary
• Water gives life to the body – The Spirit gives life to the soul
• Buildings need strong foundations – Our lives must be built on Christ
• Homes must be kept clean – Our hearts must be cleansed for God’s presence
• A community grows in care and unity – The Church grows in holiness when we live in love
Psalm 46:5 – “God is in her midst; she shall not fall.”
1 Corinthians 3:16 – “You are God’s temple, and the Spirit of God dwells in you.”
John 2:19 – “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Amin.
